I am a Staff Research Scientist at Databricks (Mosaic AI Research), working on post-training, continual learning, evaluation, and agentic systems (tool use, long-context context management, and memory).
Previously I was a Research Scientist at MosaicML. Before that I led NLP at Writer, and prior to that I was the CTO of the conversational AI startup CarLabs.
I like to build innovative products using machine learning, and also understand (empirically) how these models work. I try to create a supportive environment in which people can learn and create work they are proud of.
